Sri Swamiji — Sadguru Deva
Sadguru Deva · Parama Pūjya Śrī Gaṇapathy Sachchidānanda Swāmījī

For over half a century, Parama Pujya Sri Swamiji has walked a path of music, meditation, and seva — teaching through rāga, through ritual, and through the quiet example of a life in service.

Born in Mekedatu, Karnataka, Parama Pujya Sri Swamiji was recognized from a young age as a spiritual prodigy. He founded the Avadhoota Datta Peetham in Mysuru in the 1960s, and since 1976 has made nearly annual visits to the United States.

He is a composer and performer in the Carnatic and Hindustani traditions, has collaborated with artists from Dr. L. Subramaniam to the Kennedy Center orchestras, and has developed the discipline of nādopāsanā — music as meditation — into a form accessible to audiences of any tradition.

His global work spans humanitarian relief, wildlife conservation, interfaith dialogue, and the consecration of more than twelve temples across North America.

Do not look for the Guru’s form. Look for the stillness his presence leaves behind.
